Easy apple crisp

EASY APPLE CRISP

FILLING:
5 cups fresh apples, sliced
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla

TOPPING:
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup large flake oats
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, melted

1. Preheat the oven to 350. Grease a deep dish pie plate or a large baking dish with butter and set it aside.
2. In a large bowl, combine the apples, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla until all the apples are coated. Add the mixture to the baking dish.
3. Combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon in another bowl. Add the melted butter. Stir until everything is crumbly. Sprinkle the crumb mixture onto the apple mixture.
4. Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the apples are soft and the topping is golden brown.
5. Cool slightly, then serve warm (with our without vanilla ice cream.)
